Volunteer Information

Why Volunteering Is Important

  • Youth sports volunteering plays a critical role in creating a well-connected, vibrant, and healthy community.
  • By volunteering in youth sports programs, individuals have the opportunity to connect with other community members, build relationships, and create a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose.
  • Parents who volunteer in youth sports can get to know their child's peers, coaches, and other parents, gaining a deeper understanding of their child's social environment and fostering a greater sense of involvement and engagement in their child's life.
  • Youth sports volunteering also provides a valuable opportunity for individuals to develop leadership skills, improve their communication and interpersonal skills, and make a positive impact in the lives of young people.

Youth sports volunteering is a powerful way to build strong, connected communities that promote health and well-being.

Volunteer Requirements for all TRAA Fastpitch Softball Families

summary

  • Travel Families - 12 hours
  • In-House Families - 6 hours

details

Each family with at least one traveling player will be required to volunteer 12 hours of time from Jan 1, 2024 - July 20th.

Each family with only in-house players will be required to volunteer 6 hours of time from Jan 1, 2024 - October 1st.

Families participating in 2024 Fall Ball will be required to volunteer separate hours to be communicated in Fall Ball registration.

Families can opt-out of the volunteer hours when registering. If you will be opting out, you will save significant money by opting out at time of registration. This allows us to plan ahead and hire the staff necessary to cover events.

Families can opt out of the 12 hour travel requirement for $240, and can opt out of the 6 hour in-house requirement for $120 if done at time of registration.

If you do not opt out at time of registration and you do not fulfill all of your hours, each unfulfilled hour will be invoiced at a rate of $35/hr which is $15/hr higher than opting out at time of registration.
