MHAA is now Two Rivers Athletic Association!

An exciting change happening within our athletic association

After much consideration, Mendota Heights Athletic Association (MHAA) has changed its name to Two Rivers Athletic Association (TRAA).

The MHAA Board of Directors had discussed over several months and unanimously voted to proceed with engaging the community to change our name, we sent an email to all families on January 12th informing them of the name change proposal.

This email included an invite to attend the general meeting on February 13th where families could ask questions and vote.

We had great attendance at the February 13th general meeting with many of the attendees actively participating with questions and comments.

At the conclusion of the meeting, those in attendance were asked to vote. There was overwhelming support for the name change with approximately 90% of those in attendance being in favor of the name change to Two Rivers Athletic Association.

This change reflects our desire to be inclusive of everyone within the ISD 197 school district geographic area.  The new association name uses the ISD 197 high school name to represent the area we serve and follows the same precedent set by nearby associations that represent multiple municipalities such as East Ridge and Eastview Athletic Associations.

We believe that this change will allow our association to grow stronger, encourage more participation from families across the ISD 197 area, and foster a sense of unity across all areas we serve.

Rest assured, our commitment to providing quality programs to all members of our community, regardless of their school they attend, remains unchanged.  All existing programs and schedules will continue without interruption.

Spring and Summer sports have opted to continue using existing names and logos.  As we transition to fall and winter, you will begin to notice updates to our website, and contact information.  Team uniforms that include "MH" or "Mendota Heights" will slowly transition to simply "Warriors" branding and/or Two Rivers branded logos depending on the sport.

The uniform transition will happen at a pace that makes financial sense for each sport and may not happen immediately.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we embark on this exciting new chapter. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out .
