Registration & Fees

Registration Closes Sunday March 17th for In-House Levels!

Players must be registered by end of day Sunday March 17th to be guaranteed placement.

Registrations that come in after Sunday March 17th are not guaranteed placement and will only be provided a spot if team roster sizes allow for another spot. Registrations after the 17th do not include requests for team placement. Once a level is full after the 17th based on the number of teams, all additional registrations from March 17th - early April  will be placed on a waitlist. If enough additional players sign up to form another team and there are parent volunteers, we will form the extra team.

WARRIORS SOFTBALL REFUND POLICY

New refund policy beginning for the 2024 season:

Effective immediately TRAA will no longer provide refunds to players after they've been rostered.

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and SportsEngine has introduced an insruance option "RegSaver" to cover families when these events arise.

During your registration process, you'll be given an opportunity to purchase RegSaver insurance for an additional fee. RegSaver provides you with the peace of mind that, in the unfortunate event of injuries, or other eligible life events, occuring after registration and prior to the conclusion of the season, you will be eligible for a reimbursement of your registration fees.

While the purchase of RegSaver is entirely optional, it is important to note that without this additional insurance, Two Rivers Athletic Association will not be able to refund any registration fees after a player has been officially rostered. We encourage all members to carefully consider their options and make an informed decision during the registration process.

Refund Policies

Spring/Summer:

  1. 0% if player is already rostered. Use RegSaver at time of registration if you wanted to insure your registration fee
  2. Full Refund Minus $25 if player is a travel player and refund request is made after tryouts but prior to rostering in the fall (applies to the $125 deposit only)
  3. Full Refund Minus $25  if player is a in-house player and refund request is made by February 28th.

Fall Ball:

  1. 0% if player is already rostered. Use RegSaver at time of registration if you wanted to insure your registration fee
  2. Full Refund Minus $25 if player is a travel player and refund request is made by July 1st)
  3. Full Refund Minus $25  if player is a in-house player and refund request is made by July 14th.

Note: Any refund scenario above with exception to the RegSaver insurance will deduct any transaction fees paid up front and transaction fees incurred by TRAA for the refund.  SportsEngine assesses transaction fees of $2 + $3.25% of transaction. The customer pays that fee on top of our registration fee at time of registration.  However, when we refund the registration fee, we also pay that same transaction fee. As a result, any refunds would also be deducted $2 + 3.25% to cover this refund fee. Example: $100 registration fee will include a $5.25 transaction so customer pays $105.25.  If fully refunded, the refund only applies to the $100 registration fee and the $5.25 transaction cost of the refund is reduced from the refund for a total full refund amount of $94.75 in this $100 full refund example.

2024 Required Family Volunteer Hours

summary

  • Travel Families - 12 hours
  • In-House Families - 6 hours

details

Each family with at least one traveling player will be required to volunteer 12 hours of time from Jan 1, 2024 - July 20th.

Each family with only in-house players will be required to volunteer 6 hours of time from Jan 1, 2024 - July 20th.

Families participating in 2024 Fall Ball will be required to volunteer separate hours to be communicated in Fall Ball registration.

Families can opt-out of the volunteer hours when registering. If you will be opting out, you will save significant money by opting out at time of registration. This allows us to plan ahead and hire the staff necessary to cover events.

If you do not opt out at time of registration and you do not fulfill all of your hours, each unfulfilled hour will be invoiced at a rate of $40/hr. Travel families who do not volunteer and do not opt out will owe $480, in-house families would owe $240.

Players with birth years of 2012 or older who are born from Sep 1 - Dec 31 may continue to use the legacy Jan 1 cutoff date to determine age eligibility. Players with birth years of 2013 or younger should remain using the Sep 1 cutoff moving forward.

Players who would like to move up to an age level early must submit a request to traafastpitch@gmail.com prior to tryouts and provide justification as to why the player would like to move up early. Early move-ups must be approved by the committee and do not guarantee placement on a team at the higher level until tryouts are completed and rosters are formed. Players trying out for a higher age level early will be asked to tryout for both age levels.

Early move-ups are highly discouraged.  If your child is an extremely talented softball player and their skills significantly separate them from peers of their same age, there are other factors involved in youth sports. Allowing your child to play with their peers is something TRAA strongly encourages. If you feel your child's skill level or size is a safety risk to the players at the same level, please reach out to traafastpitch@gmail.com.

Wayne Ball Scholarship & Additional TRAA Financial Assistance

Wayne ball softball scholarship

Wayne Ball was a pillar of the West St. Paul and ISD 197 community who will be greatly missed. His contributions to West Saint Paul include coaching youth sports and running a men’s fast-pitch tournament for over 50 years. His sons, Dan Ball and Jerry Ball are both  currently softball coaches in the Two Rivers High School softball program.

To honor Wayne Ball and his legacy, Dan and Jerry have graciously created a Wayne Ball Scholarship fund that will provide a $100 scholarship to two in-house players each season and a $300 traveling scholarship to one player each season.

TRAA Financial Assistance

In addition to the scholarships listed above, TRAA sets aside additional funds to provide financial assistance for additional families in need. Assistance ranges from 25-75% of registration fee.
