Frequently Asked Questions

WHEN IS LACROSSE SEASON?

2024 Lacrosse programs are offered for Two Rivers Area from mid-March through the end of July.

During spring (Late March - May) U6-U10 play primarily indoors and during summer (June-July) awe play outside.

U12 & U14 will play outdoor games in the Spring & Summer League.

WHERE DO TEAMS PLAY?

For the Spring, our teams practice and play games at the Eagan Civic Arena in the Dakota Indoor League (formerly Dakota Box League) for U6, U8 and U10 teams.

For U12 & U14 teams Spring League involves a combination of practices and games on turf fields throughout the metro area.

During the Summer, our teams play primarily at Kensington Park. Occasionally teams will practice on artificial turf fields at nearby high schools, like Two Rivers, St. Thomas Academy or Cretin-Derham Hall.  Our teams may also travel to nearby communities for games against other associations for the YLM season (Youth Lacrosse Minnesota).

WHAT AGE LEVELS ARE OFFERED?

In Two Rivers Youth Lacrosse, we run co-ed programs for u6 and Boys Rules traveling teams for u8, u10, u12 & u14 age levels.

The Girls have begun a Two Rivers program this year, which information is available on this website.

DOES MY CHILD NEED TO HAVE PLAYED BEFORE?

Absolutely not! We love new players. Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports throughout the country, state, and even in our local community.

IS LACROSSE LIKE HOCKEY? OR SOCCER? ...OR WHAT?

Lacrosse is incredibly unique! It's a game like no other

It has many similarities to hockey, basketball, soccer, and many other sports and caters to kids of all shapes, sizes, and skill sets.

WHAT EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED?

For u6 players - lacrosse stick and tennis shoes or plastic cleated shoes are required.

For players u8 and older - lacrosse helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, cup, mouthguard, and stick are required.

Uniforms are provided by TRAA.
